Terrace Hill, Iowa Governor's Residence and National Historic Landmark, is among the finest examples of Victorian Second Empire architecture in the United States. Guided tours of the first two floors and historic gardens take visitors back to the Victorian lifestyle of the late 1880s. A visitor's center and gift shop are located in the historic Carriage House. Terrace Hill is open for tours March through December and closed most holidays. Guided tours are given Tuesday through Saturday at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm.
