Wake Up West Side: Des Moines Art Center
You're invited to network at everyone's favorite event: "Wake Up West Side!"
The Des Moines Art Center is a museum, an art school, and a sculpture park that welcomes over 300,000 visitors annually from across the country and around the globe. Its historic campus boasts buildings designed by three major architects of the 20th century, and the Pappajohn Sculpture Park – an oasis of large-scale sculpture in the heart of downtown. The Art Center is home to one of the strongest collections of 20th and 21st century art in the region, and a vibrant art school that fosters creativity for all ages and skill levels. A robust Community Access Program offers art experiences for a variety of populations through partnerships with nearly 40 non-profit partnerships.
Join us for a presentation by Kelly Baum, John and Mary Pappajohn Director and CEO, in the Art Center Café followed by a brief walkthrough of the Dahl Gallery, I. M. Pei Building sculpture court, Kyle and Sharon Krause Galleries, and the A.H. Blank Gallery. A light breakfast of La Mie pastries, coffee, and juice will be provided. Please follow security measures by remaining with our group during the presentation and gallery tour.
